Product Details

Product Characteristics:

Tris(2-chloroethyl)phosphate (TCEP) is a chemical that appears as a colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid, suitable for light cream fragrance. It contains organic phosphates in its chemical structure and is widely used in flame retardants, lubricants, plastic additives, and other fields.

Physical properties:

Tris (2-chloroethyl) Phosphate usually appears as a colorless or slightly yellow transparent liquid with a mild odor and a light creamy fragrance. This liquid state makes TCEP more soluble in general organic solvents, but insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons and almost insoluble in water.

Chemical Properties:

TCEP is an organic phosphate compound and has good hydrolytic stability. It is insoluble in water under normal conditions but has high solubility in organic solvents. In alkaline solutions, TCEP will decompose only slightly and is not significantly corrosive. This property enables TCEP to exhibit good chemical stability in specific application fields.

Application areas:

1. Flame retardant: Tris (2-chloroethyl) Phosphate is often used as a flame retardant for polyurethane, polyester, and other plastics to improve the fire resistance of these materials.

2. Lubricant: Due to its liquid state and solubility, TCEP can also be used as an additive to lubricants to improve friction performance.

3. Plastic additives: In the production of plastic products, Tris (2-chloroethyl) Phosphate can be used to improve the processability and thermal stability of plastics.

Trichloroethyl phosphate flame retardant TCEP product uses:

Trichloroethyl phosphate, a phosphate ester that incorporates phosphorus and chlorine, exhibits commendable flame retardant and plasticizing characteristics suitable for a wide range of plastic and rubber applications. It has found extensive utilization as a flame retardant in both domestic and international settings, notably in polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane soft and rigid foams, cellulose acetate, nitrocellulose paints, ethyl cellulose paint, flame-retardant rubber, and rubber belts. This product possesses inherent self-extinguishing properties, along with weather resistance, cold resistance, antistatic features, and a soft touch. Typically added in the range of 5 to 10 parts per hundred parts of resin (phr), it significantly enhances the flame retardancy of polyurethane rigid foam, as evidenced by achieving a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of 26. Furthermore, its versatility extends to serving as a specialty pressure additive in lubricating oils, a gasoline paint additive, and a thermal coolant for metal magnesium.
